Damn.

I was going to do a movie like this once....well, not the entire idea within itself, but the same concept. It's actually, overall, pretty good. Good idea, but some-what poorly executed...humor-wise. It didn't really make me laugh that much at all. I'm a guy that's pretty tough to make laugh, so don't feel so bad. Some of even the funniest flashes don't seem to make me laugh. The animation was smooth, the, I assume, custom made sprite food hats were very well made.

Cheers to you sir.

Loading Bar broken?

Is it me, or is the loading bar for this movie broken? It didn't even get half-way through the entire bar and it said it was loaded. Ah well. I don't think that you'll be able to fix it now. But, other than that, since it's just one tiny little error in there, this was overall a pretty good movie. I liked the concept and the writing throughout all of this. The humor could've been a little crude and not as funny at times as others, but it was overall great writing. Good job.

I think its cuz i stretched the NG loading bar a LOT longer than it should've been, many of my older movies were like that :P

It's different.

It's not really what I expected at all. Of course, I suppose that you were pressed for time. Were you wanting to keep pushing this forward or was this original plan in the first place?

Anyway, the idea is pretty cute. Simple Mario Kart reference, and a robot wanting to kill patchman in the end. Although, I know it's the whole point of the entire movie, but just one stab on his shoulder (or so it seemed to LOOK like his shoulder)....don't you think that's just a little.....over-the-top stupid?

The artwork's amazing though. It didn't really make me laugh that much though. I just chuckled a few times. So, humor's not really in there for me.

Overall: 4/5, 8/10

RiverJordan responds:

Patchman is over the top stupid, all of em are!

It was pretty good.

I have to say, this was pretty good. The animation quality seemed high, and the personalities of each character seemed to match their appearences, which is crucial when you're working with a short feature like this; if you're only doing one of these, make sure that you get the message off to the viewers. You succeeded in doing so.

The only problem is that, even though it's supposed to be a comedy, it didn't really make me laugh much. I mean, yeah I chuckled here and there, especially when the credits started rolling and they were having their arguement, but it didn't make me laugh out loud, so to speak. I don't know if it's because my personality doesn't match up to these jokes or whether it was the jokes themselves that weren't that funny. I just know that I didn't laugh (although, I do like these kind of jokes).

Now to the artwork: Ok, so this artwork is overall pretty good. The lighting and shading affects that you added here and there seemed like they were in the right spot at the right time. Now, some of the spots, not so much. Sometimes it just looked like you went a little overboard, so to speak. For instance, although the scene seemed logical enough to do so, the man's head wasn't completely facing up, so I don't THINK that the light should've covered what seemed to be his entire face at once. The rest is good though.

Ok, so I have took up 5 minutes of my time writing this review. I hope that you will read this and, maybe, take the advice that I wrote down into consideration.

Just a few quirks.

I have to say, this was very amusing. The creativity put into this really shows some some inspiration for future flash animators. Your artwork was good, as always. The animation was smooth, well, at the most.

Now for the problems: I noticed a abrupt halt and then restart-up of the song between the first repetition of Bakura's part and back to Marik's part. It seemed to be just a bit though. Also, lip synching could've been done just a little bit better in some places, although I don't know if you really mean't to do that or not.

Overall, it was a very funny animation. I hope to see more of this. A whole lot more.

Pretty good.

Not your best by far. The voice acting seemed to be a bit awry, like there's not enough experience there to play the parts of the dentist, the tooth, or the man himself. Also, it was sort of short (I know it's only been a month or longer since your last long animation but still). I would've liked to see just a bit more effort put forth into this.

eddsworld responds:

Don't look too much into it, i'm working on other stuff. Also Harry's voice acting kind of overshadowed us guys, haha. But, this was only intended as a side thing. Hope you got something out of watching it though!

Well, I have to say.

I'm a little disappointed in you. We, meaning us fans, have been waiting over a year now and this seems pretty short to tell you the truth. I do realize that your hard-drives pretty much crashed last year, but even if you had to remake most of the things that you were doing at the time, it would've been worth the wait. Other than that, it was a pretty good movie overall. Can't wait 'till the next one.

VicHD responds:

Dude, let me be clear about something here. There's no such thing as a perfect animation when everyone has their own opinions. If you were disappointed over the episode's length, I'm sorry. It's not like I'm making a 90 minute movie every time I post a submission you know. Also keep in mind that It's not easy to develop a project like this one.

Thinking about your comment, I probably spoiled some users with the previous episode being 19 minutes long. I went all out with that one. If I made the episode longer, it'll end up dragging the story and make viewers lose overall iterest in the animation.

Keep in mind that episodes 5, 6 & 7 were written as a whole episode (the same way George Lucas supposedly did with the original Star Wars Trilogy) and I wanted to end my trilogy in a short but sweet way. The medals ended up being an add on to the story and it wasn't originally going to be in the flash.

At the moment I'm thinking of possibly making a 30 minute episode for the next one, so we'll see what happens.

This flash...

has to be one of the funniest (not the best animated or voice acted) movies on newgrounds. the quality of your work just sometimes amazes the HELL out of me. Good job!

Ah, yes...

this thing's been lurking around the forums for months now. I'm glad it finally came out.

I did join it when windowskiller was the original organizer. I had to quit though because of too many different projects going on. I guess I bit off more than I could chew.

ANYWAY....back to the matter at hand. This is awesome, I have to say. A bunch of animators coming together to put this piece of awesomeness together is really good. Btw, I noticed this: the file size was 20.2MB? That's a lot of hard work and effort then. Good job.

Archawn responds:

A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went in to making this.

Criticism.

As a fellow spriter, I am happy to say that most of this was actually alright. I'm gonna break this down though:

Good things.
- Funny.
- Made sense (unlike most sprite movies I see)
- Had a plot

Bad things (oh god, here we go):
- animation was poor. you really could've done better.
- some frames showed up to be a little off edge (white background appeared)
- in some places where you marked to put places (I saw) you forgot to erase the marks.
- There's one thing that really wanted me to blam this (but I resisted the urge): some sprites were left with the background of it's former sprite sheet there and/or you didn't make blood smooth or mouths move that much. That's one thing that REALLY kept bugging me.

5/10=1/2, 3/5.
